QUILT BINDING WORKSHOP

Bring your quilt, tablerunner, placemat, etc. and learn how to bind your quilt using your sewing machine. Sorry, no hand binding here (Remember we sell sewing machines). We will teach you how to:

  •          determine how much binding to cut from your fabric
  •          prepare your binding to attach to your quilt
  •          sew the binding to the quilt
  •          join the two ends together without bulk
  •          glue the binding to the back
  •          and finally sew the binding to the front of your quilt.

Bring to class the following:

  •          Your sewing machine in good working order and a walking foot to fit your machine
  •          An unbound quilt, tabletopper, tablerunner, placemat to bind
  •          Fabric for the binding; this could match your borders, serve as a contrast to your borders, and or match elements of your quilt top
  •          Roxanne Glue-Baste It; we recommend this product to glue your binding to the back of your quilt; cost is $15.99
  •          Clover Wonder mini-clips; cost is $13.99
  •          Hem guage, fabric marker, rotary cutter
  •          Scissors, sewing notions

If you do not have a quilt to bind we can provide you with a quilted placemat and fabric to practice binding. Cost of this is $5. If you do not have a walking foot call us with your sewing machine model and we can order a walking foot to fit your sewing machine.
