BEGINNING PAPER PIECING



Create a stunning 12 ½” star quilt block from Carol Doak’s 60 Fabulous Paper-Pieced Stars book. Class will focus on how to achieve perfect points by machine stitching your fabric directly onto paper, otherwise known as Paper Piecing or foundation piecing. This method is ideal for creating small quilt blocks with intricate angles.  The class will include the pattern for the Wisconsin Star Block below.

Class Fee: $25 includes free pattern for Wisconsin Star. Participants should bring to class the following:

  •        Sewing machine in good working order
  •         Neutral cotton or polyester 40 or 50 weight thread
  •        2 full bobbins
  •        Scissors
  •        sharp pins
  •        small and large fabric cutting rulers
  •        Rotary cutter with fresh blade
  •        Fresh Size 90/14 sewing machine needle
  •        Open toe presser foot for visibility and a ¼ inch presser foot to sew sections together
  •        Fabric requirements as follows;

6 fat quarters or ¼ yard each of 6 highly contrasting fabrics
